TITANIC

The most famous shipwreck of all time. John Jacob Astor IV perishes while returning to America with his wife.

SALE TO DUKE TOBACCO COMPANY AND HOTEL EXTENSION

Duke & Co. significantly expanded The St. Regis along 55th Street, bringing the total number of rooms to 540. Two floors were added to the building, including the famed St. Regis Roof.

INSTALLATION OF OLD KING COLE MURLA BY MAXFIELD PARRISH

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide acquires The St. Regis Hotel, becoming the company's luxury flagship property and the inspiration for the St. Regis brand.

A NEW DESIGN

Artfully designed by Sills Huniford, the redesign of The St. Regis New York is unveiled. Following the resotration of the hotel, The Bottega Veneta Designer Suite debuts featuring unique touches of THomas Maier designed intrecciato leather pillows, hand-carved Venetian glassware and cashmere throws.

2007

OLD KING COLE MURAL RESTO

Maxfield Parrish's ironic "Old King Cole" mural returns to the hotel following an extensive twelve week and $100,000 restoration, the first of its kind since the mural was hung over the bar in 1948.

2008

ADOUR ALAIN DUCASSE AT THE ST. REGIS NEW YORK

Chef Alain Ducasse returns to New York with the celebrated debut of Adour Alain Ducasse at The St. Regis New York.

2009

THE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE REDESIGNED

The St. Regis New York unveiled its redesigned Presidential Suite at the legendary hotel. Richard Mishaan, one of New York's leading interior designers,oversaw the renovation, creating a refreshed and elegant space worthy of its St. Regis address.
